Site Safety Enhancements

OVERVIEW
This project focused on improving site safety by installing new access steps, handrails, and making adjustments to existing infrastructure. The enhancements were designed to blend seamlessly with the surroundings while ensuring functionality and compliance with safety standards.
SCOPE OF WORK
Vegetation Clearance
- Cleared minor vegetation to create space for the installation of new access steps.
Access Steps Installation
- Constructed access steps using H blocks, reinforced with steel rods and filled with concrete for stability.
- Supplied and installed Saxon slabs in a buff finish for the step tops, creating a durable and visually appealing solution.
- Ensured steps were discreetly concealed by surrounding plantation to minimise visibility from nearby houses.
Handrail and Kick Plate Installation
- Supplied and installed a 2-tier handrail and kick plate, surface-mounted at the top of the wet well to provide edge protection and safety.
Kiosk Adjustments and Repairs
- Removed and reinstated the fixings for the kiosk, ensuring proper leveling.
- Prepared and rendered the existing kiosk base to improve stability and appearance.
- Applied a fresh bead of mastic to seal the kiosk base.
Cleanup and Finishing Touches
- Tidied and cleaned the kiosk exterior to meet client expectations.
- Removed all waste from the site, leaving it clean and ready for use.
OUTCOME
The project delivered a safer and more functional site with:
- Durable and stable access steps that integrate well with the surrounding environment.
- Improved edge protection with a robust handrail and kick plate system.
- A level and well-sealed kiosk base for enhanced durability and aesthetics.
