OVERVIEW

This involved the installation of 4 new concrete plinths to support a blower kiosk and internal assets. The work was carried out within a tight schedule due to the commissioning and decommissioning required between each plinth’s construction. The project adhered strictly to client specifications and quality standards to ensure a durable and reliable foundation for critical site infrastructure.

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Site Assessment and Preparation

    • Conducted a detailed site assessment with the client and design team to confirm precise dimensions and alignment with plans.
    • Identified and highlighted site utilities to avoid disruption during excavation.

 

2. Excavation and Formwork Construction

    • Excavated to the required depth, ensuring a stable base.
    • Constructed two-tiered formwork to specified dimensions, securely positioned and reinforced with rebar to withstand concrete pouring.

 

3. Concrete Pouring and Compaction

    • Poured C35-grade concrete, ensuring even distribution across the formwork.
    • Used a vibrating poker to eliminate air pockets and achieve proper compaction.
    • Levelled and smoothed the surface to achieve a uniform finish.

 

4. Curing and Formwork Removal

    • Followed standard curing practices to achieve the desired strength and durability of the plinths.
    • Carefully removed the formwork after curing, conducting visual inspections to identify and address any imperfections.

 

5. Quality Control and Final Inspection

    • Implemented rigorous quality control measures throughout the process.
    • Provided cube test results to the client as evidence of concrete strength.
    • Carried out a final inspection with the client to confirm that all specifications and standards were met.

The project successfully delivered four robust, level concrete plinths that provide:
